Plumber prices and call-out charges
Call-outs include the first hour: £99 standard hours (8am–6pm), £129 evenings (6pm–10pm), £169 nights (10pm–8am), £129 Saturdays, £149 Sundays and £199 bank holidays. Additional time after the first hour is charged at £95 per hour, and parts are charged on top and itemised on the invoice. We confirm which band applies before an engineer sets off, and the cost of the repair before chargeable work begins.

You are not charged an attendance fee and then an hour on top. The band you see is the attendance plus the first hour of work on site.

Time beyond the first hour is charged at £95 per hour in every band, day or night. Jobs needing two engineers are quoted before starting.
Parts
Charged at cost plus a margin and itemised on the invoice. Where a part must be ordered you are told the price and lead time first.
How much does an emergency plumber cost after 6pm?
An evening attendance between 6pm and 10pm is £129 including the first hour on site. After 10pm and until 8am it is £169 including the first hour. Most contained emergencies — isolating a burst, stopping an overflowing toilet, capping a failed flexi — are dealt with inside that first hour. If more time is needed, it is £95 per hour and we tell you before the clock passes the hour.
What does a blocked drain cost to clear?
An internal blockage — a sink, bath or single WC — is normally cleared inside the included first hour, so in standard hours that is £99. External drainage, shared runs between flats take longer and sometimes need specialist kit. We clear blockages by rodding and mechanical clearance; we do not currently offer high-pressure jetting or CCTV drain surveys, and we will say so rather than charge for a visit that cannot resolve it.
What makes a job cost more
- • Difficult access — pipework buried in concrete, behind tiling or under a floor.
- • Diagnosis time on a leak that has to be traced rather than seen.
- • Parts availability, particularly on older or obsolete fittings.
- • Jobs needing two engineers, such as cylinder replacement.
- • Attendance at night, weekends and bank holidays, per the table above.
